Overview
Start On the Right Foot
A slab is the one part of a build you can't come back and fix. At Urbon Sheds, we work as a concreter in the Tweed Valley pouring shed slabs, house foundations, driveways and commercial pads. Every slab is formed, reinforced and poured to the engineering for the structure going on it, with thickness and mesh matched to the loads it will carry. That difference matters when a forklift or a loaded trailer will be crossing it daily rather than a family car. We finish, cure and joint the slab properly so it doesn't craze or crack in its first summer. Ask us about site preparation at the same time. Call 0402 550 311.
Frequently Asked Questions
A Strong Foundation for the Future
The process behind a good slab is straightforward, but each stage has to be done properly.
Set out and formwork. Accurate set-out means the frame lands where it should, and square formwork saves a great deal of trouble at erection.
Reinforcement. Mesh and bar are sized to the design loads and supported at the correct height, because reinforcement sitting on the ground does nothing.
Pour and finish. Concrete is placed, screeded and finished to the surface you need, whether that's a broom finish for grip or a smooth trowel for a workshop.
Curing and joints. Controlled curing and correctly spaced joints are what keep shrinkage cracking under control.
